Course Description: The content is designed to provide a knowledge base necessary to perform standard radiographic procedures along with the application to special studies. A very brief introduction to the requirements of radiography will be discussed. After which, general anatomy and terminology will be discussed. Anatomy and positioning of the thoracic viscera (chest radiography) will be discussed. Abdominal anatomy and positioning will be discussed. 2 Required Textbooks: Merrill’s Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, 16th Edition, Volume 1 Merrill’s Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, 16th Edition, Workbook Library: An electronic journal library is available on all Northwell computers for student use. Required Materials: Pens, pencils, notebook, charged laptop or tablet Methods of Instruction: Lectures and Diagrams The program uses the Moodle Learning Management System. The faculty collectively agree that students should be actively engaging utilizing the platform. The instructor will place all documents (homework/quizzes/tests/classwork/projects) on the platform. At times, students may be asked to print documents, or the instructor may provide a printed document, but the instructor will advise accordingly during the class or class prior. All homework and quizzes will remain available to students through the quarter. All tests will be available for review by the next class; however, students should expect that all tests will close after the review session. The instructor MAY reopen the tests prior to midterm/final at their discretion.
