RAD 328: Radiographic Physics and Imaging Equipment IV
This course is designed to acquaint the student with the basic physics of radiographic science. Building on the topics of the previous courses in Radiographic Physics, students will synthesize the role and function of each major part of the x-ray circuit, review the components of the radiographic tube, understand the basic operations of the x-ray circuit from incoming power to x-ray production, finalize their understanding of the operation of the principal parts of the x-ray tube, and discuss the process of x-ray production. The student will also distinguish between beam quantity and beam quality and the factors associated with each. Finally, they will discuss further the x-ray interactions with matter preparing them for their understanding of radiation protection and radiation biology.
