This is the ENTRANCE EXAM for Peconic Bay Program of Radiologic Technology.
It is designed to assess your knowledge of the prerequisite material for our program.
You are permitted the use of a four-function calculator that will be provided to you at the start of the exam.
There are some sample questions for you to practice with - the proctor will help you with this.
There is a CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT placed in the test.
RAD 101: Introduction to Radiologic Science
Course Description: Students will be introduced to an overview of the history of medicine and the beginning history of Radiologic Technology. In addition the students will be familiarized with the professional organizations of Radiology along with ethics and basic radiation protection relevant to the profession. Students will be conversant will the importance of maintaining professionalism at all times in the clinical setting when interacting with the diverse human population that they serve. Students will be instructed on the necessity of ensuring continual education in their modality, along with the opportunities available to them upon successful completion of their certification examination in Radiography.
Required Textbooks: Introduction to Radiologic Imaging Sciences and Patient Care, 8th Edition. Adler, Arlene & Carlton, Richard

Required Materials: Pens, pencils, notebook, calculator

RAD 101: Introduction to Radiologic Science - Eastern
Course Description: This course is used to familiarize the student with the history of Radiologic Science and with general information, including the rules and regulations, which govern the program, as well as the health care industry. The student will be acquainted and provided with an orientation on the sponsoring hospital’s policies and procedures. Students will be introduced to an overview of the history of medicine and the beginning history of Radiologic Technology. In addition, the students will be familiarized with the professional organizations of Radiology along with ethics and basic radiation protection relevant to the profession. Students will be conversant will the importance of always maintaining professionalism in the clinical setting when interacting with the diverse human population that they serve. Students will be instructed on the necessity of ensuring continual education in their modality, along with the opportunities available to them upon successful completion of their certification examination in Radiography.
